What is your biggest accomplishment in your sports?
To achieve the impossible – one always thinks that you as a person will never be able to do it – and to do it, is amazing.
What are keys to your success when it comes to training?
Consistency – not always possible – but I always do my best & when I train. I give 110% of my body & mind. Training is not a race and therefore you can push your body & mind.
What is your biggest challenge, and what do you do to manage this challenge?
Dark and “unsure” waters. I manage to block my fear by keeping my eyes on my hands in the water. Then I concentrate more on my swim stroke than the “unknown” of the water. BUT - It stays a challenge for me.
What was the best advice you were ever given?
Be yourself. Concentrate on your own goals and achievements. Each person has their strengths and their short-falls. Yours differ from others.
Do you have a saying or motto that you live your life by?
Never get so busy making a living that you forget to make a LIFE.
What is your next goal that you would like to achieve?
To participate and complete the 11 Global Sun City this year as it is a non-wetsuit swim.
What do you like and dislike most about your sport?
Like – no LOVE – my friendships with my fellow team-mates. We all support one another and believe in one another.
Dislike – cold water at the gym (he he he)
